Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been achieved on hard surfaces
A comeback the Russian player won his first trophy for nearly 30 months with success over Corentin Moutet in the tournament title decider.
The athlete, a former number one, has experienced a challenging period, winning just a single victory at the big events and undergoing a difficult moment at the US Open.
Medvedev's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serving in especial - caused him dropping out of the world's top 10 and finally separating with long-term coach Gilles Cervara.
Currently training with his coach and Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily progressed in the last few weeks - peaking in a hard-fought competitive win over Frenchman Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's first title following the Rome competition and maiden on a hard surface since spring of the previous year.
Victory also means he has achieved twenty-one victories at twenty-one different competitions.
"It's the first time I'm at a competition with my children together, so to secure a title is especially meaningful," commented ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in dedication of my child her name, because the initial championship I achieved when my older daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his past six title deciders, including in the German tournament previously this season.
Medvedev's defensive strategy and regular reactions on court had led commentators to wonder if his skill to compete at the top level was over.
Yet the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the past month, striving to approach the net and compete positively, backed up by an enhanced service.
He fought back from a deficit in the initial set against the challenging Moutet, winning four of the concluding five games to take the lead.
Both players traded breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, bidding for his initial professional championship, took control to create a third set.
Moutet defended four early chances in a competitive deciding set before the Russian broke to fifteen to serve for the match.
Fittingly, he secured the win with a rally at the net, with Moutet unable to handle a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
